Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Hello, everyone, everywhere.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Pastor Bob Thibodeau here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Welcome to your 15 minute daily Bible walk.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

We're so blessed you're joining us today.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

We just left off with chapter 14 and Genesis, and we're beginning chapter 15 today.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But I want to just review a little bit about what just happened in chapter 14.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Abraham had just defeated four kings with 318 servants, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And we know that Melchizedek got wind of this.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He had been looking for one of his descendants that obviously had the blessing of God on his life.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he said, that's my guy.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he came down, met Abram, blessed him, and passed on the anointing to him, the blessing to him.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And, you know, now he.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Abram was so blessed.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You know, he'd heard all about Shem.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And we talked about how Melchizedek is probably Shem.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And you know, he was so blessed with that that he gave him ties of all he had, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That blessed him immediately.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

The king of Sodom seen what was going on and said, well, here, you know, and now he was worried that Abram had every right, every right to claim to be king over the people now, because obviously the king had no army.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They were killed off.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They were done.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he had no way.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He proved he couldn't protect the people.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And here Abram, with 318 servants, took care of four armies and got everything back.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He could have said, make me your king.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And they would have said, okay, all right, well, here we see now the king of Sodom, he's trying to figure out how he can keep his kingdom.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So he said, look, just keep all the money, everything you recover, you can have.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Just give me the people.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now, he wasn't saying, you know, give me the people.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He was saying, keep me as king, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And Abram told him, you know, I don't need anything.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You know, he just been blessed by Shem, the son of Noah.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he knows Shem is considered the high priest of the most high God, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He said, I don't need your stuff.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I got a blessing on me now that is just going to impact me and my family for generations.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he said, I don't want.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I'm not even going to take a shoelace from you because I don't want you to be able to claim in any way that you made Abram rich, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So that's where we left it off with.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And as chapter one, verse 15, chapter 15, verse one says, after these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, do not fear, Abram I am your shield and your exceeding great reward.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

In other words, there's a promise there.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Promise number three.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And we cover promise one was, you know, he'd be blessed, and two, to have descendants as numerous as a sand.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And now here's three.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I'm your shield and your exceedingly great reward.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And Abram said, lord God, now we know that means you know.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Yahweh Almighty, Yahweh Elohim.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Yahweh Elohim, the most high God, the triune God.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Yahweh Elohim, what will you give me, seeing I go childless and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And Abram said to me, you've given no see, no descendants, so that one born in my house will end up being my heir.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Why did he ask God about that?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Go back to chapter 14.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And we see down here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Let me find it here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Because the Lord came to him and I just had it here a second ago.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Where was it?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Where God told.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Maybe it's:

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's what it is, Genesis 13, verse 14.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated himself from him, remember he finally got rid of Lot.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now he's in obedience to God's word.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He said, lift up your eyes, look from the place where you are, north, south, east and west, all the land you see, I'll give it to you and to your descendants fore.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I'll make your seed, your descendants as the dust of the earth.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So if so, a man could number the dust of the earth.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's how many people will be numbered.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And Abra's like hasn't happened yet, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And that's what he's asking God here, you haven't given me any of these descendants you keep talking about.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I don't even have a son born into my household yet.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And this servant guy here from Damascus, Eleazar, he has a son.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He's going to end up inheriting everything.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now here's where down in chapter 15, verse 4.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, this will not be your heir, but he that should come forth out of your own bowels, out of your own bloodline, will be your heir.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

There's another promise.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Praise God.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he brought him forth abroad, said, look now towards heaven.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So obviously this is his evening prayer time.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Is look towards heaven.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Count the stars.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If you're able to number them, they said, that's how numerous your descendants will be, your seed will be.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

There's another promise.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Praise God.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And remember, there's no written word at this time.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

There is no Bible, there was no Talmud.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

There was no writings at all about all this going on.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So God had to show him a way that he could.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You know, we talk about reading your Bible every day.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's what this podcast is about, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Your 15 minute daily Bible walk, just going into the scriptures for at least a little bit each day.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's the whole purpose of what we're doing here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So they didn't have that back then.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So God had to give them something he could see.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he said, come outside at night, look at all those stars.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now, you know, we look at the heavens and we.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Oh, so many stars.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Open it, folks.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I grew up in Michigan.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It was rural.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

We were well away from all of the city lights.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And you could actually see the Milky Way, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I mean, how expansive the heavens were.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And it had to be even better in Abrams Day because it was really dark.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

There were no city lights anywhere to reflect anything.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And so he said, if you are able to count them, count the stars, that's how many your descendants will be.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Verse 6.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he believed in the Lord, and he counted it to him for righteous.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He believed what Yahweh said.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He believed what Yahweh said would come to pass.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And that is what was counted to Abram as righteous.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Believing what God says.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If Abram was counted as righteous just because he believed by faith, you can do the same exact thing.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It belongs to you when you just believe what God said by faith.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If you see a promise in the Bible and the Lord puts it on your heart, this is for you.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And you just believe it by faith with nothing else to back it up but faith.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

God says that's what makes you righteous, because you believe.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Praise God.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Don't shout Pastor Bab down when he's preaching.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Good.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Praise God here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he said to him, I am the Lord, I am Yahweh, I am Elohim, that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I brought you here to give you this land to inherit it.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he said, lord God, how shall I know that I'll inherit it?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

How do I know that you're going to give me all this land?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You know, I mean, there's people here that have been occupying this land for many, many years.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They won't take too kindly for me coming in, laying claim to it, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he said to him, take me a heifer three years old, a she go three years old, a ram three years old.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

A turtle dove and a young pigeon.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And he took him all these and divided them in the midst and laid each one against the other.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But the birds, he did not divide.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now this is entering into a covenant sacrifice.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I want to stop right there because I want to spend some time on this in the next episode.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Glory to God.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I just don't want to rush through this, but in a little bit of time we have left.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I want to let you understand when he says divide of the Jewish writings, the ancient Jewish writings, and what the Jewish scholars say happened is he split these things right down the backbone so they basically in two halves, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's what it means.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Divide them in the.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He divided them in half right down the spine.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

All right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And then that obviously, you know, the area of the sacrifice is where he's cutting these up at.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So the whole ground was covered in blood.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He probably had blood on him too, because it's not a clean job.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You know, I haven't been hunting and 40 plus years, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But when I did, and you got a deer, I mean, you're all up in there and I mean, you're.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You have blood on you.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You can't help but have blood on you.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And that was nothing like what Abram had to do here because he's taking them and, you know, cutting them right down the middle.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Entrails and all was hanging out and all that.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Folks, this is serious stuff when it comes to a blood covenant.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

There is blood everywhere.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

All right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And the birds, he did not divide.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

He just laid them down whole.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And that's where we're going to stop at right there in verse number 10.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So we'll take it up beginning in verse 11 next time.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

About the Podcast

15 Minute Daily Bible Walk
Verse by Verse Through The Bible
This has been a project I have been contemplating for a long time.

Join me in walking through the Bible on our personal Bible study - one verse at at time. There is no "preaching" here. Just simple scripture reading with brief explanations and examples of what the scripture mean.

I was inspired to do this project based upon the program "Through The Bible" with Dr. Jay Veron McGee (who is passed on to be with the Lord for several years now). When I first started to study the Bible, his radio program helped me immensely. It took Dr. McGee 5 years to do a complete Bible Study.

I do not know how long it will take us. But you can start listening at anytime. My goal is to create a new episode each and every day (365 days per year).

Of course, "sometimes" life will get in the way (for many reasons). But I will pick it right back up where we left off (and try to catch up the days that were missed - to help keep us on track).

As I continue to add more episodes, you can join us at the most recent program or start at the beginning. Each episode is labeled as to the scriptures we are going to discuss.

I am so blessed you are here and I pray you will get a huge blessing as we join together in a "15 Minute Daily Bible Walk!" Amen!

About your host

Profile picture for Robert Thibodeau

Robert Thibodeau

I am a 12 year Army veteran as both enlisted and as a commissioned Cavalry Officer.
I am now a retired law enforcement supervisor...

I had my own business for seven years before I entered law enforcement.

As a cop, I was injured on the job on May 12, 2007 and after several surgeries over a couple of years, forced to retire in 2011.

As I was looking down the road to “what am I going to do next?” I started what is now known as a podcast (I had no clue at the time).

Within six months of starting (what I called) “My online radio program” I was offered an opportunity to be on nationwide AM radio. I learned A LOT in one year of doing that!

I then started the online Christian radio platform "Evangelism Radio" in the fall of 2010. It has had listeners in 160+ nations and all 50 states. We host 50+ Christian broadcasters on a weekly basis. We have been operating 24/7 for almost 14 years now. We have been rated #1 in the world by Shoutcast. com on several occasions in our genre. We recently transferred ownership of Evangelism Radio to another ministry so I could concentrate full time on podcasting, preaching and writing.

In 2018, I started the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast to conduct interviews with Christian influencers from all walks of life and to play their interviews on the radio station. (The KCR Podcast has its own time slot on Evangelism Radio)!
We now have over 1600 episodes and almost 1100 interviews (in just over 6 years).

Looking out at the future of online Christian media, I noticed there was no viable platforms that catered only to the Christian podcast market.

In 2023, we launched a networking platform called, "FaithCasters" which connects "Great Christian podcasters with Great Christian Guests!" This helps to promote the work you do through podcast interviews! Check it out at https://FaithCaster.org

We recently launched "FaithCaster Academy" which serves as a training hub for ALL of our trainings (podcast training / speaker training / interview training, etc.). Members receive access to ALL of our training programs for one low, monthly membership fee. Members also receive FREE access to ALL of the LIVE trainings I conduct (1 or 2 per month) - while non-members have to pay to access the live trainings.

Between my podcast training program, conducting podcast interviews, appearing on other podcasts as guests, speaking at conferences (in person and virtually) and the podcast networking platform, I guess you could say “I’m all in” when it comes to podcasting and online media!

My total focus is to do all we can to assist you to “Get The Word Out” about your mission, services, products, ministry, books, business, etc.
